Open Office ?





1) Introduction about OpenOffice

What is an Open Office? According to the definition found on wikipedia is that Apache OpenOffice is an open-source office productivity software suite containing word processorspreadsheetpresentationgraphicsformula editor, and database management applications. Open Office's default files format is the OpenDocument Format (ODF)OpenOffice comprises a collection of applications that work together closely to provide the features commonly included in modern office suites. From a technical point of view the applications are actually just different kinds of user interface windows (for different kinds of documents) handled by the one OpenOffice process. This is different from Microsoft Office where for instance Excel and Word are actually separate programs. Many of the components mirror those available in Microsoft Office. The components available include: Writer,Calc,Impress,Base, Draw and Math.Apache OpenOffice is the leading open-source office software suite for word processingspreadsheetspresentationsgraphicsdatabasesand more. It is available in many languages and works on all common computers. It stores all your data in an international open standard format and can also read and write files from other common office software packages.
